Egdon Resources has been active in southern England since 1997 drilling its first exploration well – West Compton-1 in the Wessex Basin in 200. The Waddock Cross discovery was appraised by Egdon in 2004 and 2005, and developed in 2013. This challenging field with a thin oil zone and water drive holds over 57 million barrels of oil in has been high graded for redevelopment.
In the Weald Basin Egdon has the shut-in non-operated mature Avington oil field where the operator is progressing a programme to reinstate production.
